Our Story

There are seasons that pass quietly. Then there is mango season in India.

For a few special weeks each year, orchards across western and southern India come alive. The air carries a distinct sweetness, farmers walk through the groves at sunrise, and generations of experience guide the careful harvesting of fruit that has been cultivated for centuries.

Saffron & Sage Foods was created to bring this moment of the Indian mango season to homes across the United States.

Our Philosophy

Saffron represents richness, rarity, and heritage, inspired by the deep golden hue shared by some of India’s most treasured harvests.

Sage represents wisdom, care, and restraint. It reflects the belief that great food comes from patience, thoughtful farming, and respect for nature.

Together, they represent our commitment to deliver exceptional food with integrity.

From Farm to Harvest

We work directly with growers across India, many of whom come from families that have cultivated mango orchards for generations. These are carefully tended farms where climate, soil, and experience determine the quality of every harvest.

Each mango is handpicked at the right moment and never rushed. From there, it is prepared for export under strict international standards to ensure that its freshness, aroma, and flavor remain intact when it reaches your table.

The Mango Varieties

Among the most celebrated varieties we offer are Ratnagiri Alphonso, Kesar, and Banganapalli mangoes.

Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes are known for their rich aroma, buttery texture, and deep sweetness.

Kesar mangoes are loved for their vibrant saffron-colored pulp and balanced flavor.

Banganapalli mangoes are prized for their large size, smooth skin, and naturally sweet taste.

These mangoes are not ordinary fruit. They are seasonal, delicate, and deeply connected to the regions where they are grown.
